Rohit Roy Confirms Reuniting With Mumbai Saga Director Sanjay Gupta- EXCLUSIVE
Rohit Bose Roy has had a long running professional relationship with director Sanjay Gupta, with the director having cast him in various projects of his, starting from a special appearance in the song Ishq Samundar from the 2002 film Kaante to this year’s Mumbai Saga with John Abraham and Emraan Hashmi.

The actor is all praise for his director-friend saying he realised his potential as an actor when he himself had no plans to act in films. “When Sanjay gave me the 2004 release Plan, I had no aspiration of ever being a film actor ever again, but then he cast me opposite Sanjay Dutt, Dino Morea and Sanjay Suri, and it also marked Priyanka Chopra Jonas’ first film that she did,” he shares.

Rohit goes on to thank Sanjay for reinventing his image as an actor with each project. “I must thank Sanjay for be it Shootout At Lokhandwala, Kaabil or Mumbai Saga, he has always given me freedom as an actor. He cast me in Kaabil when nobody in the world would have cast me as a villain. I had always played a goody-two-shoes, boy next door kind of roles and I don’t look like a villain, neither have I had any experience of playing one. Initially, I said no to Kaabil and I had a sleepless night, but my good friend Sanjay Suri convinced me to attempt that role. In Shootout, he gave me the iconic Fattoo’s role, and I am a bit phattoo in real life too. In Mumbai Saga, he completely transformed me, and with every role he pushes the envelope for me,” he gushes.

And it looks like the collaboration is going further as Rohit confirms working with Sanjay in his next. “I am doing Vikram Bhatt’s Maaya 4 next and post this, hopefully Sanjay and I will start another film, and this time the audience will see a very new Rohit Bose Roy,” he confirms, without divulging details of the film.

Meanwhile, earlier this year Sanjay had revealed working on the next film in the Shootout franchise during the lockdown, while recently there were rumours of him having approached Sanjay Dutt for Zinda 2 which he had refuted.
